The Africa Forward Summit, held this week at the University of Nairobi  wasn't just a gathering for heads of state and international CEOs; it was a pivotal moment for the people of Mathare. In a significant move that signals a new chapter for our constituency, our incoming Member of Parliament was among the distinguished leaders invited to attend this high level forum co hosted by President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The summit, themed around innovation, green industrialization, and digital transformation, provided a unique platform for our incoming representative to engage with global power players and government heavyweights. For Mathare, a constituency that has long navigated the challenges of urban neglect and infrastructure gaps, having a leader in the room where 'bankable projects' are discussed is a breath of fresh air. 

A Promise of "Direct Access"

Addressing constituents following the summit, the incoming MP sent a clear and bold message: Bank on me.

He emphasized that his presence at such an exclusive government backed event is proof of his proximity to the corridors of power. His strategy is simple but ambitious by aligning closely with the national government’s agenda, he intends to ensure that Mathare is no longer an afterthought in the national development plan.

'We are moving from the periphery to the center,' he remarked. 'My goal is to ensure that the innovations and investments discussed here from digital hubs to sustainable housing find their home in Mathare.'
